Who we are: Psyborg is made by Numinous Realm, LLC, a California company ("we", "us"). You can reach us at team@psyborg.so.

Psyborg is an astrology reading at scale, run by a small team. Each member is a client we serve. What passes between you and Psyborg is held in confidence, as it would be with your astrologer. This policy explains what that means in practice: what we collect, who sees it, what we learn from it, and what you can do about it. It covers the Psyborg app (app.psyborg.so) and our website (psyborg.so).

Our promises

Your reading is yours. What you write, say and make with Psyborg belongs to you. We keep it to serve you. You can download any dialogue yourself, or ask us and we'll send you everything. If you ask us to erase your account, it's gone within 30 days, apart from the payment records the law requires us to keep.
We learn the way an astrologer learns. Like anyone who has sat with many people, we grow wiser from the patterns we see across everyone: which skies bring which themes, and what helps. Cultivating this understanding is at the heart of the collective value we tend. It shapes how Psyborg improves, the guidance we build, the findings we share, and the stories and shows we make. Those are inspired by themes across many members and never retell any one person's story without asking. Your own words, chart and story stay confidential within our practice. We never sell them, never give them to advertisers, and never let outside AI companies use them to train the AI they offer.
In confidence. Your dialogues are read by the AI that answers you, by the AI assistants that help us run Psyborg and check its replies, and, when something needs fixing or improving, by the small team that runs Psyborg. All of them are held to the same confidence. The services we rely on, such as hosting, payments and the AI providers, handle your data only to do their job for us. We share it beyond that only if the law requires it or to protect someone's life.
We say what we do. Everything here describes how Psyborg works today. When something important changes, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If the change is about your data or what you pay, we'll ask you to agree again.

What we collect

Your account. Your email address, your name and, if you add one, a profile picture. Your password is handled by our sign-in provider. We never see it.

Your birth details. Your birth date, birth time (or "I don't know", which we treat as noon), and birth place. We turn your birth place into map coordinates and a time zone. While you type a city name, your browser searches OpenStreetMap's public place-finder directly. From these details we cast your chart.

What you create with Psyborg:

If you speak to Psyborg, your voice is turned into text as you talk. The recording itself is not kept.

Payments. Stripe handles your card. We never see or store your card number. We keep your plan, its status, and the Stripe references that link your account to your payments.

How you use the app. We record how much of your weekly allowance you use and when, so we can run your plan. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used:

PostHog knows which member did what by your email, name and plan, and it records your purchases.

Our website. On psyborg.so we use cookies and similar tools to understand how visitors find us and to measure our advertising: PostHog, Vercel Analytics and Meta's pixel. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, none of this runs until you agree in the cookie banner. Elsewhere it runs by default, and you can turn it off with the "Your privacy choices" link in the footer. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal for advertising.

The Dojo. Our community runs on Circle. If you join, Circle receives your name and email address.

How we use it

To give you your readings. Psyborg uses your chart, the current sky, your dialogues, notes and memories to answer you in context.
To keep Psyborg working, safe and fair:
- fixing problems
- preventing abuse of free trials and usage
- enforcing our Terms
To learn and improve, as an astrologer learns (Promise 2):
- Checking replies. Each night an AI reviewer reads Psyborg's replies, with the conversation around them and your saved memories, to check they serve you as we intend.
- Studying conversations. We send conversations to Braintrust, a quality-review service. Before they go, your identity is replaced with a code name, and the names of people and places are removed. Each one is sent with the sky it happened under, meaning transits and chart aspects, without your birth date or place.
- Learning patterns. From all of this we learn patterns: which themes arise under which skies, and which kinds of reply help. We keep those patterns. They are not anyone's personal story.
- No full charts. We never use a full chart, with its degrees, houses or rising sign, to learn patterns, because a full chart could identify a person.
- Stories and shows. Our stories and shows, including short animated pieces, are inspired by themes across many members. They are composites, and they never retell any one person's story without asking.
To talk with you. Account emails, such as sign-in links, receipts and reminders, are sent through Resend.
To bill you. Through Stripe.
To find more people like you. We tell advertising platforms such as Meta when someone visits our website, and may tell them when someone signs up or subscribes, using a scrambled (hashed) email that the platform can match to an account. This lets us measure our ads and find people who may like Psyborg. We never send advertisers anything you wrote, your chart, or what you talk about. You can opt out as described above.
To meet legal duties, such as tax records.

The AI, and where your words go

You are always talking to an AI, never to a person pretending.

The models. Psyborg's replies come from AI models, mainly Anthropic's Claude. Some background work may use other providers' models, such as OpenAI.
How requests reach them. Requests usually travel through Vercel's AI Gateway. If Anthropic is unavailable, the same Claude models may be served from Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud. Some background work goes directly to Anthropic.
No training. AI providers do not use your data to train the AI models they offer. We use them on terms that rule this out, or with training switched off. One exception: if a provider flags a request as breaking its usage rules, it may use that request to improve how it detects abuse.
How long they keep it. Vercel's gateway keeps nothing once a request is complete. The AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud) may keep requests for up to 30 days to check for abuse. If Anthropic flags a request as breaking its usage policy, it may keep it for up to 2 years.
What the AI receives. It gets what it needs to answer you: your first name, your plan, your chart, your dialogue, and the notes and memories relevant to it. When Psyborg reads your myth, it can also receive your birth date, time and place. The AI never receives your email address.
Web searches. When you approve a web search, Psyborg writes the search itself and is instructed never to include anything that identifies you.
Dictation. Voice is turned into text by Deepgram. We have opted out of Deepgram using it to improve its models.

Who sees your data

The AI and our AI assistants, as described in Promise 3. This includes the assistants we use to run Psyborg, check replies and understand how it is used. They are held to the same confidence.
Our small team, only when something needs fixing or improving.

What is public

Shared dialogues. If you share a dialogue, anyone with the link can read a copy of it. You can turn the link off at any time. Shared pages are hidden from search engines.
Myth images are stored at web addresses that are hard to guess but not private. Anyone who has the address can open the image.
The Dojo. What you post there is visible to the community.

How we protect it

Everything is encrypted in transit and when stored. Life Notes and journey entries are also locked with a separate key that only Psyborg's servers hold. Other content, including your dialogues, is protected by the database's own encryption and by access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe and will tell you if a breach affects you.

Your choices and rights

Delete things yourself. Dialogues, Life Notes, memories and saved items can each be deleted in the app. Deleting a dialogue removes it permanently.
Download your dialogues. Any dialogue can be exported. To get a copy of everything, write to team@psyborg.so and we'll send it within 30 days.
Erase your account. Write to team@psyborg.so and we'll erase your account and everything in it within 30 days. That includes journey entries and the code-named copies of your conversations used for quality review. What remains:
- payment records the law requires us to keep
- backup copies, which age out within 30 days
- patterns already learned across many members, which are no longer about you
Correct your details in your profile, or ask us.
Opt out of ad measurement with the footer link, Global Privacy Control, or the cookie banner.
Emails. If we send you news or offers, each one includes an unsubscribe link. Account emails, such as receipts and sign-in links, are part of the service.
Where you live may give you more rights, for example in the EU, the UK, or US states with privacy laws. These can include rights to access, correct, delete, port and object, and to complain to your data-protection authority. We honour these whenever they apply.
Legal basis (EU and UK). We process your data:
- to provide the service you asked for (contract)
- to improve it and keep it safe (legitimate interests)
- for the website's analytics and advertising cookies, with your consent
- for legal duties

How long we keep it

Your account and what you create: while your account is open, and up to 30 days after you ask us to erase it.
Onboarding drafts: 30 days.
Session recordings: 30 days.
Email delivery records: 90 days.
Payment records: as long as tax law requires.

You may tell Psyborg about your emotions, relationships, body or health, or keep cycle notes. We treat all of it like everything else you share: confidential, and used to serve you and to learn patterns as described above. Psyborg is not a health service.

If you may be in danger

Psyborg is an AI, not a person, and it is not therapy or medical care. If you tell Psyborg you are thinking of ending your life or hurting yourself, it sets the reading aside, stays with you, and shows you free, confidential crisis lines for where you are: 988 in the United States, and findahelpline.com elsewhere. If you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number.

Adults only

Psyborg is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in the United States. If you use Psyborg from elsewhere, your data travels there.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, by email and in the app. If the change is about your data, we'll ask you to agree again.
